Nominations open for 2023 Executive of the Year
Bruce Meyer, editor of Rubber News
Who will be this year's Linda Muroski?
The president of Trelleborg Marketing Americas and Global Healthcare and Medical was the 2022 Rubber News Executive of the Year. Those who attended our Healthcare Elastomer Conference got to hear her inspirational message about the best way to build a career.
"Be courageous, take chances," Muroski said during her keynote address. "I've been in a whole host of different roles because I have not been afraid to learn."
Now it's time to start determining who will be her successor as our Executive of the Year for 2023. And you can play a key role in helping decide who that will be, as it's time once again to open up the floor for nominations.
So take the time right now and give it some thought. Do you know a leader who inspires you and others to reach high and do your best work? One who makes you buy in and join them on a journey to achieve things that benefits both you and the company? Or perhaps you have observed someone who has been instrumental in helping his or her company reach a new level of success.
If so, then you need to go to rubbernews.com/execofyear and nominate them.
The nominating period starts Aug. 7 and runs through Sept. 8. That's a little earlier than our normal window, but with a busy fall travel season and adjusted publishing schedule, we want to make sure we have ample time to select the winner and prepare a profile befitting the year's top leader in our industry.
Now here's what you need to know in terms of eligibility. This is the second year that we have widened the criteria beyond lead executives of a North American manufacturer of finished rubber goods.
We're still looking for the top official of a North American-based company, or of a major rubber-related unit of a larger corporation on the continent. But now we aren't limiting nominees to just makers of end rubber goods. We've expanded it to include those who lead suppliers or service providers in the industry.
Besides end rubber goods makers, that includes: suppliers of materials, chemicals and fillers used in rubber manufacturing; custom mixers; machinery and equipment makers; mold and tooling makers; testing firms; suppliers of testing machinery and lab equipment; rubber recycling firms; distributor/fabricators of finished rubber goods to end users; distributors of materials, equipment or services; and associations or organizations serving the rubber sector.

Again, the deadline for nominations is Sept. 8. The Rubber News editorial staff determines the winner, who will be profiled in our Nov. 27 issue.
